2012年3月30日、例年この時期には豊漁となるホタルイカですが、
この年は記録的不漁となり、海岸付近ではほんの数杯しか確認できず。
発光もほとんど見られず、波に押し寄せられる個体のほとんどが
弱り切ったものであったり、既に息絶えたものであった。
